About SFOS
San Francisco Optometric Society (SFOS) serves the optometric community and patients of San Francisco County. Alongside California Optometric Association, our mission is to support and advance the profession of optometry to assure quality health care for all Californians in the Bay. We hold 8 1-hour CE Events a year during our monthly local society meetings. As a part of SFOS, you also become a member of the California Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
Other member benefits include:
FREE CE! 12 hours annually through CE X COA and “almost free” registration to conferences (e.g. Monterey Symptosium and Optowest)
FREE 30 minutes of Legal Advice with COA Lawyers
Discounts on Insurance Programs & Financial Services
New Grad Resources and Young ODs of California
COVID-19 Resources
And More!
Most importantly, becoming a member of SFOS helps COA advocate for our profession. Optometry is a legislated profession and COA works to help protect and further the scope of our profession in order to continue improving patient care, increase public awareness of optometry, and uphold the professional standing of optometry in California.
