Our very own UC Berkeley Optometry affiliated residents from UCSF & UC Berkeley will be presenting on the following topics:
Michael Wong, OD, MS - Molding the Way You Think About Scleral Lenses
Sam Lee, OD - Finding Your Oasis: Advanced Treatments for Ocular Surface Diseases
Kristina Lin, OD - Blots and Blocks: Ocular Manifestations of Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS)
Adrienne Coulter, OD - Not All Retinal Ischemia is the Same: A Scotoma Scare
Dr. Michael Wong was born and raised in Los Angeles where he received his undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from UCLA and his masters degree in Global Medicine from the Keck School of Medicine at USC. He moved up to the bay to attend optometry school at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry where he stayed at the school for residency and is the current Michael G. Harris Cornea and Contact Lens Resident. In the future, he has an interest in academia and fitting specialty contact lenses. Outside of optometry, his interests include traveling, sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Sam Lee is currently the Primary Care and Contact Lens resident at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. He received his undergraduate degree at UC San Diego and continued to earn his OD degree at SUNY College of Optometry. After his residency, he is considering a career in academia and to practice in the area of advanced cornea and contact lenses. During his free time, he likes to run--his most recent race was the Hot Chocolate 15K in San Francisco last month.
Dr. Kristina Lin is an Optometry Resident at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) focused on Ocular Disease and Primary Care. She received her Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor’s degrees at the University of California, Berkeley where she also conducted clinical research in scleral lenses and ocular surface disease. Kristina has a passion for education and patient health care advocacy. Her personal mission is to provide the best possible patient care and to inspire generations of eye care providers to do the same. When she’s not in clinic, Kristina is fine-tuning her tiramisu recipe and learning new board games.
Dr. Adrienne Coulter is a Bay Area native, growing up on the San Francisco peninsula in Millbrae. She went to the East Coast for undergrad where she got her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She returned to the Bay Area afterwards, attending UC Berkeley School of Optometry, and is now the Primary Care and Community Health resident. Dr. Coulter has started teaching students in clinic as part of her residency program, and plans to continue working in the Bay Area post-residency.
